26 teams defeated

To start with 26 teams defeated, hold 2, 4 and 6 before the player selection screen appears.

27 teams defeated

To start with 27 teams defeated, hold 4, 7 and 8 before the player selection screen appears.

Extended team roster

For an extended team roster, hold 1, 5 and 9 before the player selection screen appears.

Team substitution

To substitute a team, hold Down, C and A at the player substitution screen.

Story

For story mode, hold Left, 1, 4, 6 and 9 while the player roster is in attract mode. Keep the buttons pressed for the entire time the roster is displayed.

Adisak Attack mode

To enable Adistak Attack mode, first enable the "Extended team roster" cheat by holding 1, 5 and 9 before the player selection screen appears. Then, enable the "Baby mode" cheat by first disabling tournament mode, then pressing B, A, B, Up, Down, Left then Right at the "Tonight's Matchup" screen. The phrase "Adisak Attack" will appear on the "Coaching Tips" screen if the cheat has been activated successfully.

Secret players

Disable tournament mode, then enter one of the following sets of initials by holding Option and the indicated button sequence for that initial. Any button may be pressed in places indicated. An underscore (_) indicates a space in the initials. The phrase "Secret Player" will appear to confirm correct code entry.

Example: To play as Acclaim's Air Dog, hold Option and B to enter "A", any button to enter "I", and Option and C to enter "R".

Cheat mode

For cheat mode, disable tournament mode, then enter one of the following codes at the "Tonight's Matchup" screen to achieve the corresponding outcome for the first player on the left side of the screen.

Effect	Code
Strength power-up	Press Right, Up, Left, Right, B, Down then A. The phrase "Max Power" will appear if the code has worked.
Quick hands mode	Press Left, Right, A, B, Right then Left. The phrase "Quick Hands" will appear if the code has worked.
Offensive power-up	Press A, Up, B, Down, B, Left then Right. The word "Offense" will appear if the code has worked.
Three pointer power-up	Press Up, Down, Down, Left, Left, Right then Up. The phrase "Three Point" will appear if the code has worked.
Push power-up	Press B, Right, A, Down, A, Right then B. The phrase "Push Powerup" will appear if the code has worked.
Speed power-up	Press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Left, B then A.
On fire power-up	Press Down, Right, A, A, B then Left. The phrase "On Fire" will appear if the code has worked.
Unlimited turbo	Press B, B, Down, Down, A, A, Up then Left. The word "Turbo" will appear if the code has worked.
Dunk from anywhere	Press Right, Left, B, A, B then A. The phrase "Dunk Powerup" will appear if the code has worked.
Display shot percentage	Press Down, Up, Down, B then Up. The phrase "Shot Percent Display" will appear if the code has worked.
Slippery court	Press B, A, Down, A, B, Right, Right, Right, Right then Right.
All players on fire	Press A, Left, Left, Down, Right, A, A, B, B then Left. The phrase "On Fire" will appear if the code has worked.
Teleport passes	Press Down, Right, Right, A, A, Down, Left, Left, Right then B.
Push one player, other falls	Press Down, Left, Right, Up, Left, Left, Left, Left, A then B.
