Nine credits

For nine credits, hold I and press Up, Right, Down, then Left at the title screen. Then, release I and press Up, Right, Down, then Left.

Sound test

For a sound test, press Select at the title screen so that the player reads "NINJA". Then, hold Select again so that it reads "Option". While keeping Select held, hold Start.

Level select

For a level select, start a game and intentionally lose a life, then hold Down while your character explodes until the "Continue" screen appears. Continue then game, and intentionally lose another life. Hold Left while your character explodes until the "Continue" screen appears. Continue the game, and intentionally lose another life. Hold Right while your character explodes until the "Continue" screen appears. Your continues should then be exhausted. Intentionally allow your character to die and hold Up while your character explodes. If done correctly, the level selection menu will appear instead of the "Game Over" screen.
