Before you play the real game, play in practice mode and you will get the following bonuses for completing the goals: Complete driving practice for a full tank of fuel, complete shooting practice for 100 bullets, complete the fighting game for some raw meat. On level 4, you cannot shoot rocks so avoid them. There are usually about four in this level.
When a grenade is thrown, the guns cannot be fired before it explodes. Slow down if a car is approaching during this time.

| Level 2 Boss | Shoot the ground snipers when they appear before shooting at the chopper. They will kill you quickly if this is not done. |
| Level 3 Boss | Drop any weapons so your character can punch. Get very close to him and punch as fast as possible to avoid taking hits. |
| Level 7 Boss | Shoot the man throwing knives at you first as he can kill you quickly. With him out of the way, proceed to defeating the boss. |
| Level 9 Boss | Stand in the lower right corner and use the whip if possible. Otherwise, use jump kicks to avoid the bullets. |
| Final Bosses | Move around to keep them separated and hit them whenever possible. While both of them are alive, they will not punch you until using a successful grab. Keep both of them alive as long as possible and do equal amounts of damage to each of them. |
When playing sections of the game in which you can use a light gun, place a powerful magnifying glass between the light gun and your television screen. Hold the light gun approximately 60 centimetres (2 feed) from the television and fire whenever your target appears. Aiming directly through the centre of the magnifying glass and towards the centre of the television screen will result in you always hitting the item you are targeting, provided the gun and magnifying glass are positioned correctly. A few attempts may be required in order to get the positioning right. Alternatively, place the light gun directly in front of the target you want to hit so that the gun is right up against the screen.
Note: this tip is for sections of the game in which you can use a light gun. If you have a light gun fitted with a notch at the back (like the Zapper), use this notch to aim. Look through it and it will act like crosshairs to assist you in aiming.
When playing sections of the game in which you can use a light gun, you can shoot it at the game via a mirror. Use a large mirror reflecting the television screen and aim for your targets in the mirror rather than the television screen itself.
