30 Lives

When the title screen is scrolling down, press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B, Select then Start to get 30 lives. If playing a 2 player game, you must press Select twice so that the sequence is: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B, Select, Select then Start.

Continue Game Play

To continue playing after losing all lives, hold A, B and Select and press Start on the Game Over screen.

High Jumping & Surviving Falls

To jump extra high, press Start to pause the game, then hold A and press Start again to resume playing with the A button still held. This will allow you to jump extra high. If you fall down a hole, you can use this to get out before dying. Pause the game before falling off screen and then press A and unpause to jump back out again.

Game Genie Codes

This cheat requires the Game Genie cheat device.

Hint: Easily defeat bosses

To easily defeat bosses, begin game play in single-player mode. Summon a CPU assistant and move to a safe location. Repeat this procedure until the boss is defeated.
