Select the number of players on controller 1, then hold and on controller 2 and press on controller 1. This cheat can also be achieved by holding and on controller 2 at the title screen, then selecting a 1-player, 1-controller game and pressing on controller 1 while still holding and on controller 2.

Use the to select the play mode. You will need a four-player adapter to play in two player, two controller mode. In the arcade control modes, turn both controllers together in both hands. Use the on the left controller to move your character while the on the right controller makes your character shoot.
