Alpine shortcuts

When you are about halfway through the lap, you will see pine trees to the left and a hill straight ahead. Instead of going up the hill, turn left and go through the trees to enter a cave. Upon exiting the cave, do not turn left on the road. Keep driving straight and you will be in another shortcut - make sure you do not fall in the lake, or you will restart on the road.

At the end of the lap, you will enter the city. Before you go past the front lift where the rocks are, turn directly left to enter a shortcut. Note that this shortcut does only appears at certain times.

Aspen winter shortcut

During the race you will go around a bend and see a frozen lake to the left. Turn left to go across the lake, then go over the snow hill to save about ten seconds of time.

Canada shortcuts

At the first mill, the road will be off to the left in a bridge. Keep right, hit the ramp, and go through the windmill to land back on the road.

At the second mill, there will be boxes stacked to the left. Go behind them and up the ramp, then be sure you land on the logs. If you don't land on the logs, you will fall in water and restart on the road.

Hollywood shortcut

After going under the T-Rex's legs in the road, keep straight, hit the jump, then turn left and you will be back on course. Be sure to reach the other side after the jump, otherwise you could fall in water.

Nevada shortcut

On the first turn you will see a dirt road. Take it and you will not have to go around the bend.

All cars and tracks

To unlock all cars and tracks, press B, Right, B, Right, Up, B, then Up during game play.

Unlimited nitros

For unlimited nitro boosts, press Down, Up, Down, Up, A, X, then A during game play.

Skip current class

To advance to the next class in championship mode, press Down, Right, Down, Right, A, X, then A during game play.

More money

For an additional $100 000 in championship mode, press A, Right, A, Right, Up, B, then A during game play.

Full pause screen

To remove the text from the pause screen, press Start to pause the game, then hold X and Y together.

Soundtrack

To hear music from the game, start the system without a disc to access the audio CD player. Insert the game disc and play tracks 2 and above.

Turbo

For a turbo boost, press B, then A during game play in arcade mode. This may only be done a limited number of times.

Hint: Fastest cars

If you get the Nitro power-up on the Dodge Viper (the car in the middle of car selection screen), it will go up to 240 mph. The Bel Ray can get up to 275 mph with nitro.
