Mania mode

For mania mode, press B, B, A, C, Up, Left, Right, Down, Up, then A on controller 2 during the introduction sequence, then press Start on controller 1. The score will be set to "00001" when the game begins if the code has worked. This mode is more difficult than the "Hard Rank" setting. Cancel this mode by entering the option screen.

Super mania mode

For super mania mode, press B, B, A, C, Up, Left, Right, Down, Up, A, then B on controller 2 during the introduction sequence, then press Start on controller 1. This mode can be cancelled by entering the option screen.

Level select/View FMV sequences

Press Down, Down, Up, Up, Right, Left, Right, Left, A, B, then Start during the introduction sequence. A "Stage Select" option will then become available. Select a level number greater than twelve to view the FMV sequences.

Full shields

For activate full shields, press Right, Left, A, Right, Up, C, B, Down, Left, B, A, Up, then Start during the introduction sequence. Press A on controller 2 during game play to restore the shields.

Unlimited continues

For unlimited continues, wait until only one continue remains during game play. Allow demonstration mode to begin when "Continue 01" appears on the title screen. Press Right, Up, A, B, C, Left, Left, Down, C, A, then Start during the demonstration sequence. Press Start when the title screen re-appears to continue game play with ten continues. This may be repeated as needed for unlimited continues.

Debug mode

For debug mode, press Left, A, B, Up, Down, Up, Up, Left, Right, C, Right, Down, then B on controller 2 during the introduction sequence. A debug screen will be displayed.

Voice test

For a voice test, select the "Options" selection at the title screen, then hold A. B and C on controller 2 and press Start on controller 1. A "Voice Test" selection will then become available at the options screen.

Pause demonstration mode

To pause demonstration mode, press Start on controller 2.
