Cheat mode

For cheat mode, press A, B, C, A, B, C, B, C, B, then A at the title screen after the phrase "Push Start Button" appears. The sound of an explosion will confirm the code has worked.

Level select

For a level select, enable cheat mode by pressing A, B, C, A, B, C, B, C, B, then A at the title screen after the phrase "Push Start Button" appears. Press Start and enter the configuration menu to access a level selection option.

99 lives

For 99 lives, enable cheat mode by pressing A, B, C, A, B, C, B, C, B, then A at the title screen after the phrase "Push Start Button" appears. Then, enter the configuration menu and highlight the "Options" selection. Hold A and press Right, Right, Right, then Right while "Options" is selected. Select the "MY99" selection that appears on the options menu to enable 99 lives.

Invincibility

For invincibility, enable cheat mode by pressing A, B, C, A, B, C, B, C, B, then A at the title screen after the phrase "Push Start Button" appears. Enter the configuration menu and highlight the "Options" selection. Hold A and press Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, Right, then Right (that's 12 times). The word "Muteki" will appear if the code has worked. Hold A until the configuration menu is exited, then begin game play.

Level skip

For a level skip, enable cheat mode by pressing A, B, C, A, B, C, B, C, B, then A at the title screen after the phrase "Push Start Button" appears, then press A, B and C together during game play to jump to the next level.

Hint: Defeating the GCS-WT

The GCS-WT (the "Master Computer" final boss in the game) is easy to beat. Destroy the wall that blocks confrontation with the Master Computer. The wall will blow up and its pieces will fly at you but not cause any damage. The Master Computer will then make its way onto the screen. Stay at the back of the screen as far to the left as possible and fire at its head. The Master Computer will stretch out its arms in an attempt to destroy you, but it won't be able to reach you. After taking a good amount of damage, the GCS-WT will explode. If you simply stay at the back of the screen and leave the game idle for a few minutes, the Master Computer will eventually self-destruct.
