Self-destruct

To self-destruct, pause the game and press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, then C. After your ship explodes, it will split into four bells. A green bell will give 15 seconds of invincibility that will cause any enemy that comes in contact with you to be damaged or destroyed. This may be beneficial when fighting bosses. If a green bell does not initially appear, shoot one of the other bells until it turns green.

Full options and shield

For full options and shield, pause the game and press Y, Y, B, B, A, C, A, C, Y, B, X, then Z. This code can be repeated once for every level that has been completed.

Invincibility

For invincibility, pause the game and press C, A, C, A, C, Z, X, Z, X, Z, Y, B, Y, B, Y, C, A, C, A, C, Z, X, Z, X, Z, Y, B, Y, B, then Y.

Nine credits

For nine credits, pause the game and press Down, span class="buttoncommand">Down, span class="buttoncommand">Down, B, C, B, C, Y, A, Y, A, Up, Up, Up, Left, Right, Left, Right, Left, then Right.

Nine lives

For nine lives, pause the game and press Up, Down, Left, Right, A, A, Left, Right, A, C, Up, then Down.

Suicide

For suicide, pause the game and press Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, then C.

Vocal background music

For vocal background music, pause the game in stage 2, then press X, X, B, B, Z, Y, Z, Y, Left, Down, then Right.

Big head mode

For big head mode, press Up, Up, Up, Down, Up, then Start at the introduction screen.

Play as Dracura and Kid-D

To unlock Dracura and Kid-D, collect both the first set and second set of 70 fairies each.

Level select

For a level select, successfully complete the game with all 70 fairies collected.

Unlock difficulty setting "8"

To unlock difficulty setting "8", successfully complete the game under a difficulty setting of "7".

Alternative credits

To view alternative credits, successfully complete the game under a difficulty setting of "8" in quest mode (difficulty setting "8" can be unlocked by successfully completing the game under a difficulty setting of "7".

Hint: Restart with items and weapons

To restart the game with items and weapons you have collected, save the game after collecting items and weapons. When the game is reloaded, you will still have the items and weapons, but the score will have been reset.
