The Video Driver is a joint project made by Sega and Tyco in 1988. The system works by first placing the car and the driving part (steering wheel and gear stick) in front of the TV. Then, you put a Video Driver video into your VCR. The Video Driver videos feature scenes of roads so that it gives the illusion that the little car is driving on the road displayed on the TV screen.
The system does not need to be connected to the television at all. The pack-in video with the system is California Chase. The system uses four C-sized batteries and can be used on 13 - 20 inch televisions.
Platform: Video Driver.
